What’s in a Name?

Today I am thankful for my 30 year old self. (Me in the pic πŸ˜‰). I was not long divorced after 11 yrs of marriage (yes, I started young!), and was faced with the dilemma of what to do with my name.

30th B Day

You see I felt keeping my married name would not reflect my identify moving into my future, and reverting to my maiden name was just not an option. After leaving an abusive home life at 16, I had done a lot of work on myself to heal and shed layers of dysfunction that were not mine. My family name was not an association I wanted to make with my evolving Self.

So what did I do? Well, I rebranded of course!πŸ™Š

I didn’t have any idea how to do so at first, but then it came to me. An avid fan of Allison DuBois, one night I thought: “Fuck it ..I will become a DuBois!” So I did! (Hysterically at the time, I didn’t really understand I had Mediumship tendencies. I was just a fan of Allison’s books and TV show “Medium”… my Guides were definitely playing a magical game with me!πŸ˜‡πŸ€£πŸ˜‡πŸ€£).

It wasn’t easy….I was very concerned about what people would think. My children… thought I was NUTs. But, it was THE most powerful step I have ever taken in eliciting my own power from within.

SO, I am thankful today (11 years on!) to the 30 year old me, for finding the courage to embark upon the Journey to discovering my Authentic Self.

I would love to know…How’s your personal brand going? Does it reflect your Authentic Self? What ideas could you brainstorm to make changes that are more aligned with you.

How others see you is not important. How you see yourself means everything.

I love you Ms. DuBois and I don’t care whatΒ your name is.Β  Since 2009, I have watched you become a glorious woman who knows who she is and where she’s going.Β  It’s brilliant to experience even from afar.Β  Every time a friend succeeds one’s heart feels joy.Β  I have so much more to share but I get tired since the surgery and I need to sleep.Β  Bless you, love,Β SaraΒ
